Launching the Malaysian MADANI National Training Module: Building Youth with Exemplary Character

Note from PMX

This evening, I had the privilege of launching the Malaysian MADANI National Training Module, which will be utilised in training courses by the Malaysian National Academy. This module is designed based on the nation’s history, a deep understanding of the Federal Constitution, and the appreciation of the Rukun Negara. Its primary goal is to build new strengths among the youth of Malaysia, shaping them into individuals of exemplary character with a profound love for the country.

Cultivating Wisdom and Strong Identity in Youth

The new strength envisioned through this module aims to train young people to possess wisdom, rationality, and a strong sense of identity. The values of MADANI instilled in them are intended to steer them away from hatred, slander, and enmity stemming from differences in skin color, ethnicity, class, and religion. This strength is crucial to embed in the hearts of young people who are currently facing dissenting voices that attempt to drag us into narrow-minded discussions, sow seeds of racial hatred, and promote extreme religious ideologies that are far removed from the values of compassion, love, and unity.

Appreciating History and the Sacrifices of Freedom Fighters

This module also emphasises the aspect of national history, particularly in appreciating the struggles and sacrifices of leaders and citizens from various ethnic backgrounds who fought for independence. As French thinker and philosopher Roger Garaudy eloquently stated, “It is not to bury the ashes of the dead, but to rekindle their flame.” This statement reminds us not only to remember the contributions of our freedom fighters but also to reignite the spirit of their struggle.

The Great Responsibility of Today’s Youth

Today’s youth bear a great responsibility to understand the history of building an independent nation. This independence is not merely for sovereignty but also to protect the welfare of the people, establish good governance, and uphold ethical leadership. They must stand against all forms of corruption, malfeasance, and deceit. The younger generation must realised their duty to carry forward the torch of struggle for a brighter future for the country.

The launch of the Malaysian MADANI National Training Module is a crucial step in our efforts to shape Malaysian youth into individuals of exemplary character who love their country. With a deep understanding of history, the constitution, and national values, our young people will be better prepared to face future challenges and uphold the independence and sovereignty of our nation.
