The Reality of Life and the Challenges of Politics and Economics

Living in this world means facing tests. There are always problems, threats, solutions, profits, or losses. This is a fact. Failing to accept this becomes a problem in itself. Humans are tasked with managing and administering, equipped with assets such as humanity and the environment, all with specific purposes and uses. Within this environment, there is knowledge, science, and technology for humans to manage and govern. Without these, our lives would be empty, boring, and meaningless. This is the game of intellect and life, which is enjoyable, fulfilling, and successful for those who understand. This is the goal of Allah’s creation. There is no falsehood in His creation and occurrences; it is just that humans, with limited knowledge, do not comprehend.

We pray for success in this world and the hereafter. The world is a bridge to the hereafter. Everything must be done in this world; nothing needs to be done in the hereafter. Reflect on the world and its contents and their purpose. If we fail to build a good bridge in this world, how can we reach the hereafter?

The best human beings are those who benefit others. This is our duty when discussing politics, economics, and other matters. God gains nothing from human actions, and human wrongdoing leaves no mark on Him.

When calamities befall us, we are commanded to be patient. Facing problems without complaint is a sign of strong faith and conviction. When facing challenges, Allah loves those who strive and make the best efforts, with success or failure determined by Him. With sincere intentions, all sacrifices will be rewarded. If we follow the right knowledge, guidance, science, formulas, and rules, Allah will grant us success.

Returning to the two major issues we face or discuss:

  1. Politics and power
  2. Economy and wealth

There are solutions to all of these if we follow:

  • Knowledge and guidance
  • Basic structures
  • Systems and methods
  • Technology for facilitation
  • Laws for control

We have all these tools. Our failure lies in not knowing how to use them. All the ingredients are there, but we don’t know how to cook. When we don’t understand, this happens:

  • Standing in the wrong place
  • Looking in the wrong direction
  • Walking in the wrong lane
Doing the wrong things in the wrong way but expecting the right result.

In politics, we have:

  1. Government: an administrative and management organisation.
  2. Parties: unity in policy and direction with a system for electing leaders.
  3. Representatives of the People: elected as legislators and trustees of the people. Among them, some become cabinet ministers in the government, representing the majority voice. Some, in the minority, become the opposition, tasked with providing checks and balances.

All these individuals are public servants, paid by the people, serving the people. They are akin to the steering wheel, fuel, gear, clutch, and brakes in the vehicle of the people’s system. They bear the duties of integrity, responsibility, and accountability in their respective roles.

We, the people, are stakeholders. We need unity in vision, goals, and objectives. “They” above must implement missions, plan strategies, and take actions. As servants of the people, they work for us, not for their purposes. We need to prioritise:

  1. Agenda: The Malay/Bumiputra agenda, being the majority (72%), is the core of the national agenda. Democracy is a system based on the will of the majority and political stability.
  2. For peace, prosperity, and well-being for all Malaysians, achievable through:
  • Political stability
  • Economic justice
  1. Parties are organisations, akin to defensive fortresses of political power. Parties are like containers that unite water; without them, water would scatter and disperse. The fortress cannot break and must be defended, not used as a defense for leaders. The fortress belongs to the people, not the leaders. They have no right to destroy our fortress, causing the collapse of our power and economy, leading to us being colonised again.
  2. Leaders are important but must not be paramount. Leaders come and go; no one is indispensable. Selection follows systems, laws, and rules. Those elected must respect their positions.
  3. As a citizen and stakeholder, I, along with other citizens, adhere to the structure, system, regulations, and laws we have established as the foundation for the government to manage the challenges and problems of the nation. Respect democracy and uphold the constitution.

I firmly believe we can handle challenges and problems and succeed. That is the goal.

In economics, corporate and organisational sectors, we follow the same structure, system, and laws, and we succeed. The political and economic systems are the same, using organisational methods to achieve objectives and goals. Both these organisations use human capital and assets similarly to achieve their aims. This means there is much to learn from organisational similarities in leadership, management, strategic planning, budgeting, and actions.

These are my terms of reference in the political field. Proposals, discussions, debates, criticisms, agreements, and disagreements, this is the TOR. I am pro-people, not a politician, party member, or leader supporter. I look from the perspective of organizational leadership, not individual leaders, studying and adapting from my experience in the economic field.

Just like trains on land, ships at sea, and airplanes in the air, all are vehicles with the goal of transporting passengers and cargo to their destinations. Similarly, we strive to achieve goals in politics, economics, education, and more for the people’s benefit.
